Abstract

A communications manager (405) receives messages from a first call feature server (210-A) and sends messages to a second call feature server (210-B). The messages comprise telephony signalling suitable for use over a time division multiplexing (TDM) telecommunications signalling channel. An emulation manager (420, 430, 440) is also provided. The emulation manager is coupled to the communications manager (405) and is arranged to receive messages from the first call feature server (210-A) via the communications manager (405), emulate one or more TDM telecommunications signalling channels for communication of said messages, and send messages to the second call feature server (210-B) via the communications manager (405).
