Abstract

A centre key piece2 having a body portion 4 and at least one arm 6 8 integrally formed with and extending out from the body portion 4. The centre key piece has a connection portion 14 arranged such that when the centre key piece is mounted to a corresponding equivalent centre key piece, the connection portion 14 engages with the corresponding centre key piece and is held substantially in place. A centre key may be formed from two centre key pieces. The connection may be via male and female portions, friction fit or a tongue and groove. A key piece may also have a projection (150 Fig 3) that engages with the arm (280 Fig 3) on the other centre key piece. The centre key may manufactured from injection moulded plastic and may be used as a cross piece for a decorative framework or false glazing bar system in windows and may be sandwiched between two glass panels to form a Georgian window.
