Abstract

An effervescent solid bath oil composition comprising; (i) a cosmetically acceptable solid fat such as cocoa butter and/or shea butter; (ii) sodium bicarbonate; (iii) citric acid and process for the preparation thereof. The composition may further comprise a cosmetically acceptable liquid oil such as almond oil as well further additives such as dispersants, binders, fillers and opacifiers. The aforementioned composition provides a product that may be more readily disbursed in a running bath or one that has been filled than prior art compositions.
