Abstract
A metal hollow tapered tubular shaped electricity transmission tower 1, such as a pylon, supporting a hollow wing shaped arm 2, which fits on top of it by means of a centrally positioned circular aperture 5, and from which extends one or more high non-conductive cables and a number of vertical insulator strings 3 to which there are attached a corresponding number of electricity conductive cables. The arm has on its underneath surface two circular doors to enable maintenance access and supports a typical vertical axis wind turbine 4 emerging through its circular aperture. On its south facing side the tower has one or more wide strips of photovoltaic laminate 6, the output cables of which enter the tower and join those of the turbine at the towers lower portion to power a typical air CO2 extraction mechanism.
