Abstract

A docking station or docking terminal, comprising an interface for connection with the terminal, the interface comprising a plurality of electrical connection points for connection with a plurality of corresponding electrical connection points of an interface of the terminal, wherein the interface is configured to electrically connect in a plurality of orientations of the terminal relative to the docking station. This may involve a symmetrical square or concentric circle arrangement, which can be continuous connections or discrete points, allowing a handheld device to be electrically connected facing forwards or 180 degrees rotated backwards, so that it is in different alignments or orientation.
