Abstract

A reservoir of synthetic plastics material for a master cylinder is constructed from a base 14 and a lid 15 which are permanently connected together at their mating faces, for example by welding, along a join line 16 which lies in a single plane. A portion 5 is upstanding from the base 14 and a passage 12 defined by a wall 13 and including a portion of the lid 15 provides limited communication between chambers 6 and 7 on opposite sides of the partition 5. At least one, the left hand as shown, end of the passage 12 when projected lies outside at least one edge of the lid 15, and the join line 11 passes through the partition. <IMAGE>
