Abstract

An anti-freezing unit is designed to eliminate freezing of the condensate discharge pipe line 1 from a condensing boiler when discharging externally during adverse weather conditions, so as to keep the boiler in operation. The unit may utilise rock salt 4, or an equivalent material, situated on a non-corrosive mess grid 5 from where the condensate passes through it to form a non-freezing solution, which can be dispensed into a drain. Preferably, the unit further comprises a lid 2, a discharge void 3, a drip void 6, and a region 7 which retains the solution until it is discharged through an outlet pipe 8.
