Abstract

Disclosed herein is a wireless communication system having a star topology and using a plurality of wakeup frames to help reduce power consumption. The wireless communication system includes a communication manager (102) that transmits a plurality of wakeup frames in a wakeup frame generating period of each communication period. A wake up frame includes information about the terminals that want to communicate with the communication manager such as its identity. Terminals (104) that receive one of the plurality of wakeup frames communicate with the communication manager according to the received wakeup frames. In the wireless communication system, the communication manager (102) repeatedly transmits a plurality of wakeup frames at one communication period and the terminals (104) are configured to communicate with the communication manager by receiving one of the wakeup frames, thereby making it possible to minimize the power consumption of the terminals (104).
