Abstract

An internal combustion engine ignition distributor has a contact breaker plate 1 pivotally mounted on a support plate 3 having spaced therearound peripheral recesses 5 and the contact breaker plate 1 being formed with radial legs 2, 7 which extend through said recesses and are inclined at an acute angle relative to the face of the support plate 3 remote from the contact breaker plate; and a spring member 8, which extends about the plates in the angle between said inclined legs 7 and the support plate 3, exerts a radial pressure so that the resultant wedging action thereof presses the breaker plate 1 towards the support plate 3. The legs 2,7 may alternatively be on the support plate 3 and may also extend radially inwardly. <IMAGE>
