Abstract

The invention relates to headwall units for use in drainage ditches wherever outfall pipes for water drained from surrounding land occur, and provides a lightweight as compared with concrete, one piece unit comprising a rim 11 surrounding a mouth or opening 17 presented by a recessed portion, the recessed portion being defined by an inclined or curved backwall 12, side walls 14, and a bottom wall 13. The bottom wall preferably is substantially planar and horizontal in use. The backwall may be provided with rearwardly extending anchor means 15-16. <IMAGE>
