Abstract

A holding device for a sewing machine is disclosed which is of particular application to such air permeable materials as knitwear and the like, the device including a cover disc (27) movably mounted on the head (1) of the sewing machine adjacent the sewing station and movable by pnematic cylinder means (15, 16) to and from a position in which such disc overlies the suction port (9) provided adjacent such sewing station. <IMAGE>
