Abstract

A structure for mounting circuit elements in an electronic timepiece comprises an insulating film 1 having holes 1 a-c therethrough, a patterned electrically conductive layer 2 fastened to the insulating film and present even in the portions facing the holes, an IC chip 4 mounted on one side of the conductive layer and electrically connected thereto, and circuit elements connected to the conductive layer and positioned at least partly in the holes. As shown the conductive layer is on the side of the film 1 opposite a liquid crystal display 11 and a connector 10 is located in the hole 1c. The arrangement is stiffened by a moulded plastics cover 14 and frame 12 which may also act as a light guide for the display. <IMAGE>
