Abstract

Pulp press of the type comprising two imbricated vertical screws 4 driven so as to rotate in opposite directions 7 and synchronously by a double step- down motor and revolving in a bicylindrical perforated cage 3 possessing, at the bottom an inlet 6 for the products to be pressed, and at the top, an outlet for the pressed products, is characterised by the directions of rotation and the pitches of the screws being selected so that opposite the inlet 6 the threads run so as to move apart from one another at the same time as they produce an upward movement. The inlet 6 can be connected directly to a hopper. A partition 11 at the inlet 6 divides the incoming product into two flows, each flow being directed onto one screw. <IMAGE>
