Abstract

A rotor for a gas turbine engine comprises a disc (15) having a plurality of blade carrying slots (17) in its periphery and a plurality of blades (16) having roots (20) adapted to engage with the slots (17). Both slots (17) and roots (20) extend along a helix centred on the axis of the disc (15). <IMAGE>
