Abstract

Threshing apparatus comprises a cylindrical tube (10) inclined relative to the horizontal and having an input at the upper end and the output at the lower end. An axle (32) driven from a motor (40) carries pairs of beaters (50, 52) which when rotated induce an air flow through the tube in the direction in which the crop is to pass through the tube during threshing. The inclination of the tube (10) is adjustable by an adjustable leg (16, 18). The blades (50, 52) may be of metal or rubber or a plastics material but where pliable blades are used, at least one set of blades must be sufficiently rigid to maintain the air flow. Some of the blades may be replaced by chains to produce a harsher threshing action. The blades are carried by bosses (54) and are removable from the bosses and the bosses are movable along the axle (32). <IMAGE>
