Abstract

One of the problems with photographic assemblages used in the colour diffusion transfer process of reproduction is their temperature sensitivity which results in poor colour pictures at extremes of temperature. A method for reducing this sensitivity is disclosed in French Specification 2,366,599 Serial No 1543285 (U.K. Application 15572/77) and comprises using certain polymeric latices for forming the timing layer which times the neutralisation of the processing fluid. This invention provides a method of improving the performance of such assemblages which comprises incorporating a compound of formula I in the timing layer or in an additional timing layer behind the latter; <IMAGE> wherein G is H, -CO.R or -SO2.R and G' is -CO.R or -SO2.R, R being alkyl or substituted alkyl of 1 to 20 carbon atoms or aryl or substituted aryl of 6 to 12 carbon atoms; and wherein Z is H, alkyl or substituted alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, alkoxy of 1 to 6 carbon atoms or aryl of 6 to 8 carbon atoms.
