Abstract

A method of forming pellets from a suitably moistened particulate material wherein undersized pellets issuing from a pellet forming machine are separated and re-cycled to the pellet forming machine with the feed of particulate material along with pellets of greater size. This technique enables production of pellets to be at a more constant rate than has hitherto been possible. Apparatus for practising the method includes a pelletising drum 10 feeding a screen (12) having sections 12a, 12b which pass undersized pellets and full sized pellets located over a diverting device (17) slidable relative the screen to pass a desired quantity of the full sized pellets with the undersized pellets for re-cycling to the drum via conveyors 13, 14, 15 and 11. <IMAGE>
