Abstract

The present invention provides a method of producing a base at least part of the surface of which is reflective, coating at least part of the surface of the base with a clear, heat- softenable lacquer, at least partly immersing the lacquer-coated base into a heated, fluidised bed in which a plurality of transparent beads are suspended, the bed temperature being sufficiently high to soften the lacquer and permit beads to adhere thereto, and removing the bead-treated base from the fluidised bed and permitting the lacquer to set or harden.
