Abstract

A wall mounted device for measuring and recording a person's height and which may be moved from one location to another without altering the recorded measurements, comprises panel 10 having flanges 23, 24 and adapted to be secured to a wall surface 14. A member 22 slidably engages the flanges and is adjustable along them by a friction wheel 44. A bar is pivoted to the member 22 about a horizontal axis 40, the lowermost limit of the bar with respect to indicia scored on the flanges when the bar is horizontal and in contact with the top of a person's head giving his height. A plurality of markers 32 are provided for attachment at selected locations on the panel 10 aligned with the indicia to form a permanent record of heights. When the bar 46 is vertical, it locks the member 22 against sliding. <IMAGE>
