Abstract

The invention provides a method of preparing an active surface for fluoro immunoassay, which method comprises preparing an aqueous solution containing an immunologically active material to be contacted, in use, with a sample in a predetermined solvent, depositing said aqueous solution on a support surface to which said immunologically active material is capable of binding, drying said support surface, soaking the thus-dried support in said predetermined solvent, removing the solvent from said support by non-evaporative means and drying said support. The invention also includes a fluoro immunoassay technique utilising the device for assay of DNA antibodies.
