Abstract
In a single-phase stepping motor for use in clocks having a rotor 1 with a flat, multi-pole, disc-like body rotating in a first plane, and a stator 2 comprising two stator elements 3, 4 connected with each other by a bridge element 5 carrying the energizing winding 6, lying in a second plane parallel to the first plane, a bearing 8a for the rotor shaft 9 is formed on at least one of the pole faces 7 to ensure accurate concentricity of the rotor 1 with the stator 2. A further bearing is housed in a leaning pedestal (not shown). Each of the two stator elements 3, 4 merges into a number of pole faces 7 directed towards the end face of the rotor 1 and the number of stator pole faces 7 is smaller than the number of rotor poles 10. In another embodiment the second bearing bush is housed in a soft-magnetic plate which also acts to screen extraneous fields. <IMAGE>
