Abstract

A roller has an outer periphery of plastics material. Metal particles are embedded in the plastics material to improve the thermal conductivity to enable the plastics to be cooled adequately. The roller is formed by a centrifugal casting technique. The metal particles may be present in the form of powder, flakes or fibres.
