Abstract

A conveyor belt (F) comprises at least one of a plastomer and an elastomer, and a tensile fabric. Warp threads of the fabric in the laterally inner region (M) of the conveyor belt (F) provide substantially the entire tensile strength of the conveyor belt (F) while warp threads of the fabric in the laterally outer regions (R) of the conveyor belt (F) provide little or no tensile strength. In a preferred embodiment, the fabric comprises three layers of threads, the middle layer in the laterally inner region providing substantially the entire strength of the belt. <IMAGE>
