Abstract

An exhaust gas filter comprising glass fibre fabric 3, a layer of aluminium oxide 1 attached to the glass fibre fabric and supporting sieves 2 defining the shape of the fabric and oxide layer therebetween. The fabric 3 and/or the aluminium oxide layer 1 may contain boron. The exhaust gas flows in direction A. The glass fibres have a diameter between 7 and 12 mu m and a length of 10 to 40 mm. The aluminium oxide layer is 2 to 8 mm thick and consists of aluminium oxide powder, having a grain diameter not above 8 mu m together with a binding agent. <IMAGE>
