Abstract

A method of implanting artificial hair involves using a needle 5 having a forward facing notch adjacent its sharp end. A section of the hair adjacent its root portion is trapped in the notch and dragged by the needle into the cut it makes in the skin. When the needle is withdrawn, the root portion of the hair remains behind, buried in the skin. The preferred needle is hollow and is provided with two diametrically opposite sharp projections 5a having notches formed between them. The projections may be rounded or converge to sharp points. Preferably artificial hairs with looped root portions are utilised. <IMAGE>
