Abstract
A hydraulic control valve for synchronising the advancement and retraction of two hydraulic actuators is described. The valve includes a rotor rotatable within a valve body and having interconnecting fluid passages for connecting inlet and outlet ports for hydraulic fluid for the actuators. The rotation of the rotor to control the flow of hydraulic fluid to or from the hydraulic actuators is brought about by means of a length of cable 17 one end of which passes around a recoil drum 16 joined to the rotor and the other end of which is linked to one or both of the hydraulic actuators 11, 12, so that when they advance or retract out of synchronism, cable pays off from or onto the drum so rotating the drum and rotor to modify the flow of fluid to or from the hydraulic actuators and restore them to synchronism. The arrangement is particularly useful in the actuation of telescoping jibs for cranes. <IMAGE>
