Abstract

A device for transfer of valuables through a security barrier comprises an open topped container (15) received in an aperture in a screen (12) forming part of the barrier and arranged for tilting movement about a substantially horizontal axis between end positions in which access to the container interior can be had from respective different sides of the barrier only. A fixed shield (20) prevents access to the container interior in the intermediate positions. A communication device (21) can be associated with or included in the transfer device. The container may be manually movable or power driven; an alternative container (31) is drum shaped. <IMAGE>
