Abstract

Methods of making photographs, particularly designed for copying photographically other photographs, comprise exposing the material to be photographed to such a short total time interval, often less than 100 microseconds, so as to enable the contrast of the photograph being copied to be reproduced. Apparatus particularly designed for carrying out this short exposure is also described in Figures 3 and 5 which show an arrangement for controlling flash duration as a function of light used during exposure. Figure 13 shows an arrangement for controlling flash intensity as a function of the density of the original, which is photoelectrically measured before exposure. Figure 7 shows an arrangement for exposing film to non-image as well as to image light.
