Abstract

In a CMI encoder the output OR gate is replaced by a D-type bistable which is re-set by short pulses, derived from the clock pulses supplied to the coder after they have first been gated with this data. The bistable acts as a clock OR gate and removes jitter. In this circuit configuration the D-type bistable only needs to operate at the data rate and not at twice the data rate. <IMAGE>
