Abstract

As shown in Figure 2 of the drawings a lining element for a furnace comprises alternate strips 1(a) of highly refractory alumina fibres and strips 1(b) of less refractory fibres containing silica, the fibres of each strip being arranged perpendicular to the face of the furnace wall. <IMAGE>
