Abstract
A process for the production of single cell protein by the aerobic cultivation of micro-organisms which have been genetically modified to enable them to assimilate ammonia by the route catalysed by the enzyme glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH). Genetically modified micro-organisms and a method for producing them are also claimed.
