Abstract
A ballast weight device for a submarine cable or conduit 1, said device comprising a pair of axially spaced rings 2 and 3 which extend around the cable or conduit 1 and are clamped thereto, each ring 2, 3 being formed of two part-circular members having clamping means 4, 5 for clamping them around a cable or conduit 1, each ring 2, 3 having retaining means 6, 7 for retaining two part-circular concrete members 10 which extend between the rings 2 and 3 and said rings 2, 3 each having a portion which serves as a spacer 11, 12 between the cable or conduit 1 and the concrete members 10. <IMAGE>
