Abstract

Adhesive compositions having improved resistance to microbial attack contain a biocidally-effective amount of a polyoxymethyleneoxazolidone selected from: (a) compounds having the structural formula: <IMAGE> wherein each R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a halophenyl group of a (CH2O)mCH2OH group, m is 0, 1 or 2 and n is 1 to 4; (b) compounds having the structural formula: <IMAGE> wherein each R<1> represents an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a -CH2OH group and R and n have the meanings defined above; and (c) mixtures thereof.
