Abstract

A metal section for use in the construction of door and window frames includes a thermal stop. Window frame section element 1 and window leaf section element 2 each has on the outer side thereof an insert 4 of insulating material comprising a heat insulating sealing material 14 and strips 10 and 11 of insulating material. At least the visible portions of the insert 4 are covered by a finishing strip 5 extending over at least the whole outer surface of the outer side. In another embodiment the entire insert 4 is formed by pouring a liquid material between an extruded finishing strip 5 and the main section element and allowing it to harden. <IMAGE>
