Abstract

A cover grid for cesspits in stables comprises spaced parallel beams of reinforced concrete whose ends 1a are supported on parallel edges of the pit to be covered. Adjacent grid beams are spaced apart by means of spacers 2a-2b (e.g. of plastics) which are inserted in transverse full-width sleeves 3 in the beam ends 1a, each spacer having a shaft 2a adapted to the sleeve shape and having its large area head 2b in abutment against the concrete beam. The beam spacing may be varied by additional plug-in or slip-on spacers such as 4, 4a. Each spacer may be formed with opposed plug-in shafts to act as a beam connector. <IMAGE>
