Abstract

A tarpaulin particularly useful for military purposes has at least an outer layer thereof reflective when subject to infra-red radiation, regions of varying reflection being provided to break up the outline of the tarpaulin so that the tarpaulin merges with its surroundings. Such regions may expediently also be of different shape and/or varying coloration. The tarpaulin may be used as a fixed component of the outer skin of an inflatable body, such as a rubber dinghy or a balloon. <IMAGE>
