Abstract

An apparatus for attachment to a conductor for the suppression of a blow-out occurring within the conductor comprises (a) a sleeve 4 for attachment to the conductor 6, the sleeve having two or more apertures 8, 9, 10 at axially spaced apart positions, (b) means for securing the sleeve to the conductor, (c) a trepanning tool for drilling through the apertures in the sleeve, and (d) an insertion tool for pinching the central casing and tubing 22 to constrict the flow of oil or gas. <IMAGE>
