Abstract
An optical transmission cable comprising a stack of sheets of optical fibres is disclosed. Each sheet consists of a first band (10) of polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride formed with a plurality of parallel longitudinal grooves (101) each containing an optical fibre (3), and a second band (20) of a smaller thickness than the first band forming a cover for the grooves. The band (20) is formed by an upper band (11) of polyethylene terephthalate and a over band (12) of polyethylene applied under heat. The optical fibres (3) have a diameter smaller than the width and depth of the grooves (101), and are formed with bends which are pre-determined with respect to their position in the stack of sheets. <IMAGE>
