Abstract

A method of producing a trim component for the internal furnishing of a motor vehicle and having a form-stable support (13), padding and a covering element 12, for covering said padding, the method comprising the steps of placing the covering element 12 onto a mould part 3 and retaining it thereon by means of vacuum applied through ducts 4, placing the support 13 on a mould part 2 at a distance from the covering element 12 and introducing the foam substance 16 forming the padding between the covering element 12 and the support 13. The latter may be of plastics or hard fibre and the covering element 12 may be of plastics which may have a textile backing. <IMAGE>
