Abstract

Selective distant control systems. -Relates to a system for selecting one out of 2n circuits bv means of two groups of p and q relays respectively the relays having 1, 2, 4 &c. switch arms arranged as shown at 14, 15. In the system 2px2q=2n. According to the invention one group 14, selects one of 2P wires to each of which is connected one of the terminals of each of 2<q> of the circuits to be selected. The other group selects one of 2<q> magnets 20 each of which controls a rod 22 carrying 2<p> contacts, which co-operate with the other terminals of the circuits. The first switch arms 6 are connected to opposite poles of a battery. The relays 8 may be polarized so as to have three positions and instead of operating a number of switch arms may be replaced by groups of relays in series or parallel, with one arm each. In modification the group 14 controls rods such as 22. Means may be provided for locking the magnet armatures. In practice. the switch arms 6 are replaced by contact springs. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises a discussion of the method of selection employed in the groups of relays 14, 15 and also arrangements of the type shown in Fig. 5 (Cancelled). In this system one of 27 lines on the left of the Figure (18 only being shown) is selectively connected to a corresponding line on the right. Three three-position relays with nine contact arms are employed, the arms being arranged to bridge pairs of contacts which are cross-connected to other pairs. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
