Abstract

Apparatus is described for covering continuous conveyors used in coal mining to prevent air-entrainment of coal and dust particles and the associated fire and health hazards. The cover comprises three parallel widths of plastics sheet sealed together along their longitudinal edges with the middle or upper sheet being tensioned to prevent sagging. The cover is supported by arches spaced along the conveyor frame.
