Abstract

A valve device which can be fitted into a discharge opening of a container of liquid to allow liquid to be discharged but to prevent liquid being introduced into the container, the device consisting of a first hollow member 1 having a cylindrical portion 2 at one end with a transverse end wall 3 having an opening 8 therein and extended at its other end by finger elements (5) which have teeth 7 on their inner side, an apertured disc 9 being located in the cylindrical portion 2 and a second hollow member 12 being inserted in the first hollow member and having teeth 13 on its exterior which are engaged by the teeth 7 on the finger elements 5, said second hollow member 12 having an end wall 14 which is axially spaced from the end wall 3 of the first hollow member 1 and which is provided with apertures 15, the disc 9 in one position sealing against the end wall 3 ofthe first hollow member 1 to prevent inflow of liquid through the valve device and said disc 9 being moved off said end wall 3 when the container is tilted to allow liquid to flow out through the apertures. <IMAGE>
