198,168. Ablett, H. E. April 12, 1922. Signs, supporting and securing.-An interchangeable background f is provided for a loose letter sign and consists of pliable material, preferably cloth. The support is formed in sections held together by canvas c and strips h which keep the sections rigidly in position. Bars e are lodged in recesses d in the adjacent surfaces of the sections; the background f for the letters is wound around these bars as shown in Fig. 3. The size of the sign may be increased by connecting together two or more smaller sections by means of dowel pins placed in holes in the ends of the sections. The stiffening strips h may be replaced by clips which engage recesses in the ends of adjacent sections.
