Table games; parlour games.-An appliance for use in playing games such as indoor football or hockey comprises a pair of upright frames, with centrally disposed openings for use as goals, and each mounted on a support or base board secured to a table or held to a floor said frames serving to support and hold taut a netting adapted to enclose and extend above the field of play, a cord of rubber or the like being inserted in the side edges of the netting to cushion the impact of the ball. In Fig. 3 is shown a longitudinal section of the appliance which comprises base boards 3 secured to a table or held by the players to the floor. The base boards carry frames 1 provided with central goal openings and connected by netting 6 which extends above and around the field of play. A gap remains between the lower edge of the netting and the playing surface. When the appliance is used on the floor and the ball 8 is played with the feet, the opposing players sit round the net, and the base boards 3 are held in place by the feet of chairs on which the goal-keepers sit. An elastic cord 7 at the lower edge of the netting cushions the impact of the ball. The field of play may be shortened by hooking rings 9<b> on to hooks 9<c>. The appliance may be collapsable for convenience in packing. For playing a game on a table, the appliance is modified as shown in Fig. 4, and the players endeavour to score goals by shooting the ball with the fingers.
