Surface condensers.-In an air-cooled condenser of the kind comprising a number of groups of flattened tubes mounted in separate headers, the tubes being provided with external ribs bearing against each other, and with depressions in the walls forming internal stays, some of the groups are replaced by bars or tubes acting as stays for the whole system. These stays may be connected to each other and to end frames by longitudinal bars.
