Abstract

195,741. Furness, J. A., and Richardson, W. L. Jan. 4, 1923. Contents, delivering. - Relates to boxes for cigarettes &c., of the kind provided with an aperture through which the contents are delivered singly and in succession by a piston element associated with a lever pivoted in the case and operated by a push-piece, slide &c., the cigarettes &c, being maintained in rows, and impelled towards the side of the box in which the aperture is arranged, by a spring follower arrangement.. According to the invention, the lever 8 is of bell-crank form and is pivoted in a compartment 14 formed in the portion of the box below the ends of the cigarettes &c, 4 and the push-piece 11 or slide, &c., is also located in such portion. The box may be constructed for more than one row of cigarettes &c. with means to bring the second row into line with the delivery aperture or separate delivery apertures may be provided for each row with separate delivery mechanisms.
