Abstract

193,481. Stephens, G. T., (Argyle Dental Co.). Nov. 22, 1921. Casting. - machines. - An apparatus for casting dental parts &c. comprises a plunger 1 sliding in a sleeve 2, Fig. 2, with a tapered enlargement to fit a corresponding recess in the investment 13, Fig. 6. The recess is formed by the pattern holder 11 which is removed before heating the mould to destroy the pattern. The plunger is held up by a spring 3 and the lower end of the sleeve is filled with plastic material 9 such as moldine which is shaped by a metal cone 8, Fig. 5, and serves to seal the molten metal against escape. When only a small quantity of metal is required, a modified form of holder 11, Fig. 7, is employed.
