Vaporizing-apparatus.-The fuel vaporizing device arranged in the burner body f of a soldering- iron, soldering-lamp, chafing dish &c. consists of a metal sleeve a and a metal disc b formed with one or more central perforations. A wick c dipping into the fuel reservoir d presses against the disc b, which serves as a throttle for limiting the flow of fuel. The sleeve a has an extended surface and is preferably formed by corrugating a thin sheet of metal and bending it about a mandrel. A metal filling rod may be inserted in the central passage a' of the sleeve a. An initial heater g is provided.
