Hydrostatic apparatus; casings.-An apparatus for weighing explosives comprises a beam 1 which is entirely or partly enclosed within a casing 7 to exclude explosive material from the working parts. The suspension rods 3 of the scale-pan carry inverted cups 5 forming parts of liquid seals, which also form weighing resistants. An index pointer attached to one of the rods 3 indicates excess or deficiency from a zero position. A counterpoise weight 2, with an adjustable weight 12, is secured to one end of the beam by a screw 13.
