Vacuum cleaning-apparatus.-The mouth a of the suction nozzle b of a vacuum cleaner is provided with one or more teeth or projections d to enable the cleaner to pick up loose threads &c. from the surface being cleaned, the teeth d extending into and across the mouth a and below its edges so as to raise the mouth from off the surface being cleaned. As shown, the teeth d point outwards and are secured to the inner edge c of the mouth a by means of their undercut ends d<1> engaging in recesses in the edge c ; but the teeth may be arranged on the opposite edge f and point inwards ; or teeth may be provided on both edges c, f. With an odd number of teeth, the central one may be arranged at right-angles to the edge of the mouth, and the others at an angle to the central one. The teeth may be formed in one with the mouth of the nozzle.
